Gracie - coming home!

For those of you who don't know, we have two labradors. If you ask anyone who knows us personally, they would tell you that they're our pride and joy. They pretty much fill the gap for kids right now (kids, someday-- dogs are easier for now).

Anyway, I guess I'll get to the point. Gracie, our 2 year old black lab, has been in Bayard, Nebraska for 7 long months. She's been with pro-trainer Chris Jobman with Flatlander Kennels. They've been really great with her and she's learned alot, but it's time for her to come home.

The picture I posted isn't the greatest because it's a cell phone picture, but I, like an idiot, forgot my camera. The second picture is a picture of the underground goose blind they have. When you pull the door over your head, you stick your head up through the decoys which have little slits to see and look for geese. I thought this was pretty dang cool and Ty was in heaven!

The Newest Edition

My little nephew has finally arrived! I know Ashlie was especially excited. Being pregnant through the whole summer was not very fun for her. His name is Daxin Mark Roper. He was 9 lbs. and 20 inches long. Dan, Ashlie and Damien were all excited for a new little guy to join their family.

My Stupid Little Garden

I was really excited when Spring came. I finally had a place to garden! I planted everything you can think of, squash, zucchini, tomatoes, peppers, pumpkins... All in my little tiny front yard. When I first planted everything I was so excited. I was outside picking weeds and watering them every second. About a month later, my dad called me and told me that he had tons of tomatoes sprouting everywhere. I was a little bit discouraged because I had spent SO much time on my stupid little garden and had gotten nothing. I told him, "I guess I need to take a gardening class." He said, "It doesn't matter how much you know. When you don't care about what you're planting, they grow like WEEDS! And when you do care, it seems like you get nothing out of it!"

Well, I think he was right... or maybe I just need to be a little more patient. I stopped trying to watch them grow and finally got something out of it!

I guess that means FRESH SALSA on the menu tonight! YUM!!!

Weekends in Delta

Tygh and I went to Delta this weekend. Alot of people always ask, "why do you spend EVERY weekend in Delta???" I always say, that is a fantastic question, thanks for asking! I'm a small town girl at heart and any chance we get, we will go there. You may not think so, but there is always something to do. Anything from camping, hiking or fourwheeling. My favorite thing is to sit on the porch on a warm summer night and watch the stars. There is such a peaceful feeling about Delta that helps you forget all your worries about school and work (you can pretty much just leave those in the "big city"). It really helps me slow down, take a breath and take a break from this fast pace life I'm living. And that's why I LOVE it.
Also, please enjoy these lovely photos of Delta taken with my camera phone. :)

First Blog Post

So, I finally did it. I jumped on the band wagon and started blogging. Not much to say now, but will have more posts to come!
